In the video clip below, Jon Stewart of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show does a pretty effective job exposing the way the mainstream news sources–and not just one or two, but a variety of them–have dismissed or outright ignored Ron Paul, the Libertarian Congressman and now three-time Presidential candidate from Texas.
Writing earlier today at The Gralien Report, I noted the that, “I commend Jon Stewart and the staff at The Daily Show for highlighting this so effectively for us,” and despite any ideological views expressed otherwise on his program (or the fact, as some have asserted already, that Stewart himself could be considered part of the “mainstream” just as well), it is important nonetheless to see how media treats candidates who, by most accounts, work at representing a moderate, fiscally and economically educated, and overall common-sense approach to the political system today. What a shame…
